Guy Viseur à Bruxelles – Les As du Musette

Live Session at L’Archiduc – Round about five Sunday 22 June 2025

Musette is the blues of Paris – a passionate blend of Auvergnat dance tunes and Italian folk, later infused with the swing of jazz and the lyricism of chanson. The result? A music that is as fiery as it is wistful, full of soul and dazzling virtuosity.

At the heart of this tribute is Gus Viseur (1915–1974), the Django Reinhardt of the accordion. Viseur revolutionized musette by weaving in jazz elements – swing rhythms, harmonic richness, and fearless improvisation influenced by the likes of Django and Charlie Parker. A true master of the instrument, Viseur was not only a brilliant composer and improviser but also a gentleman of jazz.
