Black Art Jazz Collective

Round About Five – 30 June 2024 at 5pm

🎷 We were thrilled to host the incredible Black Art Jazz Collective at the Archiduc!
This collaborative sextet, started in 2013 by Jeremy Pelt, Wayne Escoffery, and Johnathan Blake, is made up of six top-notch improvisers who are both seasoned and relatively young. The Black Art Jazz Collective is dedicated to recognizing the African American foundation of jazz and highlighting relevant social and political issues through their music.

Meet the lineup:
Josh Evans – Trumpet
Wayne Escoffery – Tenor Saxophone
James Burton III – Trombone
Danny Grissett – Piano
Jasen Weaver – Bass
Ali Jackson – Drums

Described by Time Out as « comprised of Jazz’s finest rising stars, » the Black Art Jazz Collective has established itself as one of the most important new groups in jazz. Their performance was a true testament to their dedication and talent.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable evening!
