Ben Van Borstel Quartet

Ben Van Bortel Quartet — led by Belgian guitarist Ben Van Bortel, the group plays modern jazz that mixes originals with standards. The quartet has appeared regularly at L’Archiduc in Brussels (e.g., Jan 20, 2024) and similar clubs. Line-ups have included Milan Verbist (piano), Wolf De Backer or Jasper De Roeck (bass), and Nico Manssens or Simon Van Brandt (drums). In 2022 a “Verbist – Van Bortel Quartet” edition highlighted the band’s acoustic, straight-ahead sound and focus on interplay.
