A quartet who, under the original name of Alexi Tuomarila Quartet, achieved global success 10 years ago. Flow marks the return of the quartet, fusing the youthful energy and vibrancy of ten years ago with the experience of a decade’s touring.
With echoes of Keith Jarrett’s European Quartet, the writing on Flow is vibrant, distinctive and highly original, combining hypnotic riffs, absorbing melodies with elegant improvised piano phrases from Tuomarila, intertwined with Kummert and Gilain’s haunting vocal chants and virtuosic, harmonically rich saxophone solos.
