Guy Viseur à Bruxelles – Les As du Musette

Musette is the blues from Paris. Paris Musette was conceived from the liaison dangereuse of the dance music of the Auvergnats and Italian folk music. Add to that later the swing of jazz and the lyricism of the chanson and you get rousing music, imbued with melancholy and frivolous virtuosity.
Gwen Cresens pays homage to the Django Reinhardt of the accordion: Gus Viseur (1915-1974). He gave the rich accordion repertoire a new breath by adding jazz elements: swing, harmonic enrichment and a lot of improvisation inspired by the virtuoso swing jazz of Django Reinhardt and the nervous bebop of Charlie Parker. It is no surprise that Gus Viseur became a member of the famous Hot Club De France. Gus Viseur was an inspiring grand master of the accordion, passionate composer, masterful improviser, sincere jazzman and every inch a gentleman.
Gwen Cresens, accordeon
Jasper Hautekiet, bass
Matthias De Waele drums
