Marie-Laure Beraud

She’s back with a new album where she bares her soul without a single filter—a record of fantasies and short stories. Clément Nourry accompanies her through dreamscapes and sudden jolts back to reality, his guitar nonchalant and virile in the spirit of Ry Cooder or Mac DeMarco. Yannick Dupont provides invigorating drums and Ted Clark adds a formidable bass, while Nicolas Michaux lends subtle guitars and keyboards—and takes the helm in production.

Then, to the rhythm of a tango, Et voilà, Marie-Laure invites us into the tale of a big-hearted prostitute, evoking Fellini’s La Strada. In a completely different mood, she whispers a thousand nocturnal secrets in La nuit retient, a beautiful nod to Dani and AIR.

And beware—here comes a bold turn: a resolutely punk-rock reimagining of her 1986 hit C’est pas le Pérou. Another gem from her own repertoire surprises and delights: Viens Simon, swaying deliciously between the Arizona Dream soundtrack and Grace Jones.

Comfortably nestled in her bed, far from the frenzied crowd, she also reveals herself with mischief and tenderness on Encore le temps. Song after song, she leaves no one indifferent—and that’s all the better for us.

Yannick Dupont – drums
Clément Nourry – guitar
Nicolas Michaux – guitar & keys
Ted Clark – bass
Marie-Laure Beraud – vocals
