Napoleon Da Legend
Napoleon Da Legend is a Paris-born, East African and Washington DC-raised, Brooklyn-based lyricist who evokes the bleak reality of the world today without lose hope for a better tomorrow. N.D.L.’s innovative short-film “Wise Men” featuring the late great Sean Price quickly became a cult hit among Hip-Hop heads with its overt challenge of the music industry establishment. His signature wordplay and voice rose from relative obscurity after the groundbreaking “Oxygen” record featuring Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon.
He has since been touring Europe and the United States having been tapped to perform at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival in June 2015 and France’s HipOpsession Festival alongside legendary French DJ Poska in February 2016. He was a featured artist twice on the Huffington Post Black Voices BARS in March 2016 and August 2016. In June 2016 he released the “Steal This Mixtape” project with no features where he self-admittedly “stole” beats from some of his favorite producers (J Dilla, Madlib, RZA, Onra… etc). This project has garnered buzz around the Hip-Hop world showcasing his growth with heart-felt, emotionally driven rhymes over carefully selected soundscapes.
