Norman Baeker Blues Band
Norman Beaker has been at the forefront of the British Blues scene for over 4 decades playing with Alexis Korner, Graham Bond, Jack Bruce, Tony Ashton, Paul Jones, Eric Burdon and many others. BB King commented, “Norman is like a white Freddy King”, a compliment indeed, and not one wasted on the many artistes Norman has subsequently worked with including: BB King, Jimmy Rogers, Buddy Guy, Lowell Fulson, Fenton Robinson, Chuck Berry, Carey Bell James Booker, JonLord, Larry Garner and Ruby Turner to name just a few.
The Beaker Band are one of the hardest working bands on the circuit and one of a the few acts, playing songs relevant today. Recently the band have been touring Europe with Chris Farlowe and Van Morrison.
John Price: Bass Guitar
One of the busiest bass players around, John feels privileged to have worked with a host of great artists including : Mick Abrahams, Miller Anderson, PP Arnold, Tony Ashton, Madeline Bell, Maggie Bell, Cliff Bennett, Dave Berry, Colin Blunstone, Eric Burdon, Aynsley Dunbar, “Champion Jack” Dupree, “Honeyboy” Edwards, Chris Farlowe, Lowell Fulson, Larry Garner, Paul Jones, Jon Lord, Tony McPhee and Van Morrison.
Steve Gibson: Drums
Having been signed to both Polydor and A&M Records, Steve is a fantastic musician who has worked with many great artists and has literally toured the world with the likes of Ian McNabb (Icicle Works), The Buzzcocks (Singapore, New Zealand and Australia) as well as performing with Jack Bruce, Chris Farlowe, Van Morrison, Maggie Bell (Stone the Crows), Larry Garner (US blues guitarist).
Nick Steed: Piano/Organ
He is a highly regarded musician who has been recognised for his songwriting by international artistes from Lil John Roberts(Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Snarky Puppy), Francis Dunnery(It Bites, David Sancious), Mike Lindup(Level 42).
Nick has also appeared & worked with following artists: Sonja Kristina(Curved Air), Pete Brown(Cream Lyracist), Chris Farlowe, Larry Garner, PP Arnold, Mollie Marriot, Corky Laing, Steve Ellis, Van Morrison, Gary Husband, Dennis Chambers, Steve Hackett, David Sancious, Ginger Baker, Lulu, Malcolm Bruce, Cliff Bennett, Shakatak, George Melly Quartet.
Kim Nishikawara: Saxophone
Kim Nishikawara is originally from Vancouver, Canada and now lives in Manchester, England. A professional multi-reeds player for over 30 years, ‘formal’ training was at Berklee College of Music studying arranging and composition.
Other notable tours include “Souled on Blues” with Norman, Chris Farlowe, Cliff Bennett and Herbie Goins, Alan Price, “A Night at the Flamingo” as well as the UK and Europe with Chris Farlowe.
He has featured on many gigs with renowned artists Jack Bruce, Larry Garner, PP Arnold, Mollie Marriot, Long John Baldry, The Powder Blues Band, Downchild Blues Band, Doc Fingers Real Gone Rhythm, Dominic Halpin and Michael Bublé having arranged Michael’s debut album Babalu.
