Scott DuBois – guitar
Gebhard Ullmann – tenor & soprano saxophones/bass clarinet
Thomas Morgan – bass
Kresten Osgood – drums

It’s the time again in the year for Scott DuBois to deliver us with our annual refill of his fine jazz. The return of our prodigal NYC son!

Guitarist Scott DuBois’ (b. April 27, 1978) music is described by Jazz Times as “fascinating”, by Cadence Magazine as “exceptional…faultless, a perfect gem” and by AllAboutJazz New York as “captivating music for the meditative thinker”. He has recorded two CDs with David Liebman for the historic Soul Note record label, Monsoon (2005) and Tempest (2007), two CDs for Sunnyside Records, Banshees (2008) and Blackhawk Dance (2010), and was selected as a Semi-Finalist in the 2005 Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition. DuBois has toured extensively with his quartet and other groups performing at jazz/improvised music festivals and clubs throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Spain, and Ireland. Scott has performed with David Liebman, Chris Potter, and Tony Malaby, among many others. New York City’s Downtown Music Gallery wrote that Scott is, “one of the best and most adventurous guitarists in New York City.”, and Spain’s largest jazz media source, Tomajazz.com, calls Scott, “one of the best modern jazz guitarists.”

The Scott DuBois Quartet consists of New Yorker Scott DuBois on guitar, Berliner Gebhard Ullmann on tenor and soprano saxophones and bass clarinet, New Yorker Thomas Morgan on acoustic bass, and Copenhagener Kresten Osgood on drums. The group has received critical acclaim from publications throughout North America and Europe for Scott DuBois’ unique, forward-thinking compositions with an intense focus on group improvisation, interaction, dynamics, and the unpredictable.
