Marc Danval, a key figure in radio, the jazz scene, a writer, poet, lecturer, collector, jazz, and gastronomy chronicler… celebrates his 60 years in radio and the 30th anniversary of his show « La troisième Oreille » (The Third Ear) this Saturday. To mark this exceptional longevity, Marc and his many accomplices are the guests of a special show presented by Alexandra Vassen, this Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 2 PM to 4 PM live on La Première and in public from L’Archiduc in Brussels. Among his guests: Charles Loos, Le grand Jojo, Xavier Canonne (Museum of Photography in Charleroi), Gilles Ledure (Flagey), Fred Jannin, Walid, Charlotte Dekoker, and many others.

Noël Godin, the famous pie thrower; Belgian anarcho-humoristic agitator! Accompanied by Madox, a Belgian activist.
Cécile Maistre-Chabrol, stepdaughter and close collaborator of Claude Chabrol for 25 years. Her documentary « Chabrol l’anticonformiste » (Chabrol the Nonconformist), which recounts the famous Chabrol method, will be broadcast on Arte as part of the Chabrol Cycle on February 17th and 18th from 8:50 PM and available for replay on arte.tv.
David Murgia, actor. In 2009, David Murgia co-founded the Raoul Collectif and created Le Signal du promeneur in 2012, which was a great success. After meeting Ascanio Celestini for Discours à la nation in 2013, the actor and author continued their collaboration by opening a « bar trilogy, » of which Laïka (2017) is the first installment.

New fabric

In 2000 we reniew the fabric of all the seats. This is the fabric used to restore the seats of the train used as decor for the film « Murder on the Orient Express »; British film, directed by Sidney Lumet, released in 1974. It is directly adapted from the eponymous novel by Agatha Christie featuring the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.
The fabric was manufactured by Algemene Fluweelweverij in Ledegem.


Mal Waldron

Mal Waldron left Munich for Brussels in 1991. During the 90s, he played almost every week from 6 pm to 10 pm at L’Archiduc.

Malcolm Earl Waldron, known as Mal Waldron, born on August 16, 1925, in New York and died on December 2, 2002, in Brussels, was an American jazz pianist and composer. Strongly influenced by Thelonious Monk, he is mainly known for his collaborations with Billie Holiday, Eric Dolphy, and Charles Mingus.
